Mosquito Control

Our city provides a first class mosquito abatement program that is also second to none! The department traps mosquitoes in ten different locations throughout the city and uses this information to determine the spraying schedule. We use as many as three trucks each night for our ground applications, spraying an EPA approved product that has proved to be very successful in our area. We also use larvicide’s on a regular basis to keep the pests at a minimum throughout the mosquito season. Aerial sprayings are also part of our arsenal and used as needed throughout the summer, provided, we are not able to keep the summer pests to a minimum with ground applications alone.
